Project Controls Specialist
Location: Aiken, South Carolina
Responsibilities:
- Provide controls expertise related to the integration, management, planning, budgeting, scheduling,
progress measurement and risk management of multiple cross-discipline projects
- Develop, track and maintain detailed life cycle schedules and associated cost estimates
- Analyze reports and forecasts and advise management of cost and schedule trends
- Provide critical path analysis, risk analysis, earned value analysis, issue resolution, meeting
facilitation and process improvement on project related tasks
- Conduct productivity analysis to identify adverse trends and propose corrective measures
- Prepare comprehensive project reports summarizing results of cost and schedule analysis and detailed
assessments of variances between work performed, work scheduled and actual costs
- Provide recommendations to management regarding cost and schedule recovery methods
- Prepare budget scenarios for “what-if” cases and evaluate potential cost saving measures
- Assess future project needs and funding requirements
- Develop other reports as required by management based on project and client needs
- Maintain initiative, flexibility, and cooperation in a team environment
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in business, science, engineering or equivalent, plus 5 years experience in project
controls position in a multi-project, engineering/construction environment
- MBA a plus
- Proficient knowledge of planning/scheduling techniques, cost planning and reporting, cost/schedule
integration, procedure preparation and earned value analysis
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills
- Experience with Primavera P6 planning tools
- Extensive experience with the Microsoft Office Suite including advanced word processing using Microsoft
Word, as well as, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Comfortable with working directly with clients in an environment that changes rapidly, and requires occasional
long hours
- Knowledge and experience with the Department of Energy’s standards, procedures and guidelines and industry methodologies

- Site access will require the qualified candidate be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Energy
(DOE) security clearance. The candidate’s written consent to conduct a background check for the purposes of obtaining a
security clearance will be required as a condition of employment
- Ongoing reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal substances will be conducted as a requirement for ongoing access
to DOE sites. The candidate’s written consent to conduct such tests will be required as a condition of employment
Desired or Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of DOE sites and types of operation.
- Self-directed, and able to define and achieve goals with little supervision.
