Employment Position: Senior Decommissioning/Environmental Engineer
Responsibilities:
Consulting to government clientele for decommissioning and waste management of nuclear facilities.
Conduct cost estimating for deactivation and decommissioning of excess government nuclear facilities.
Review and evaluate projects on a case-by-case basis, including baseline scope, schedule and cost review; engineering deliverables to meet critical decision milestones; and other lines of inquiry.
Analyze and convert data and information into logical and understandable charts and graphs to allow easy reading by executive management.
Write reports to record the results of tasks and reviews.
Develop other reports or presentation as required by the client.
Assess and offer improvements in data collecting methods.
Lead projects as assigned.
Maintain communication with varied contacts within the clients many work sites.
Maintain initiative, flexibility, and cooperation in a team environment.
Required Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience with nuclear facilities and
waste management, with emphasis on project planning.
Cost estimating for decommissioning, with emphasis on RACER.
Field experience with environmental projects.
Certified cost engineer.
Must be comfortable with change, response to activities on short notice with occasional long hours, and working directly with clients.
Experienced in the tools of Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Excel.
Desired or Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor of Engineering or Environmental Science and five years experience.
Knowledge of DOE sites and types of operation.
Demonstrates evidence of continuous self-improvement, and is self-directed, or able to define and achieve goals with little supervision.
Experience in training, facilitation, or other group participation activities.
